UNICEF
"Somewhere Over the rainbow"A docu-drama for UNICEF
and a series of short films
Nameeta Premkumar Nair Directed and collabrated with Unicef
on this extremely unique project which was shot in 3 villages
of Orissa.
The films are taken through the Meena girls in the District
of Kendrapara.
These girls have battled unbelievable odds under extremely difficult
conditions and are now champions of various causes ;right from
child rights,domestic violence,sexual abuse and many more.
Today there are almost 10,000 Meena clubs and the girls call
themselves Meena after having watched films around the animated
character Meena.
This film has indeed become an inspiration and today Imagik
is assisting the NGO "Natures club" in its endeavours
to encourage the spread of these "Meena Clubs" across
the country.
